Janelle Niles is a Black, Mi’kmaw, two-spirited woman from Sipekne’katik First Nation in Nova Scotia and a stand-up comedian. Despite a tumultuous upbringing, Janelle embraces her biracial experience and queer identity, using stand-up to usher in a new era of inclusive, Canadian comedy.
We are pleased to invite you to a special screening event happening in Toronto at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema on Wednesday, October 4th. The event includes a screening of our film and a presentation of Got Land? Canada's first all-Indigenous comedy show was created by our hero Janelle Niles. The comedy show will feature comedians Don Kelly, Toronto local Denise McLeod, and Janelle with a brief Q&A to follow.
