Nisa Kennedy

Nisa Kennedy is a Wolastoqey and Mi’kmaq comedian, storyteller, and reluctant adult from Sitansisk (St. Mary’s) First Nation. Against all odds (and her own disbelief), she’s the exhausted but undefeated mother of 4-year-old twins and a 6-year-old—plus the unofficial stand-in mom for a million siblings. Somehow, this chaotic circus of a life has given her endless material and a master’s degree in comedic survival.

Though she officially started doing stand-up in 2024, those who know her would argue she’s been doing it since birth. When she’s not turning everyday struggles into punchlines, Nisa is a sought-after public speaker specializing in Indigenous employment services and career development. She also wrangles a team at an Indigenous non-profit focused on economic reconciliation—because clearly, she doesn’t believe in free time.

Nisa is available for stand-up comedy, emceeing, keynotes, workshops, and, if necessary, to just stare at you uncomfortably until you book her.
